John began working in the field
of prosthetics and orthotics in
1984. His desire to work with
patients in developing safe,
comfortable and functional
prosthetic/orthotic devices has
allowed him the ability to
develop into an experienced
practitioner. John often works
with the most challenging
clientele. After graduating
from Alma College with a
Bachelor's degree in science, he
pursued a career in Orthotics
beginning in 1984. He attended
the long-term certificate
program at Northwestern
University in orthotics,
graduating in 1985. John became
a certified orthotist in 1986
following his residency. He
returned to Northwestern
University to attend the
long-term certificate program in
prosthetics in 1989, receiving
his certification in 1991. John
began his career with Michigan
Orthopedic Services in 1996 and
currently manages our Eastpointe
location. John attends multiple
prosthetic clinics and has
advanced training in several
micro-processor prosthetic knees
as well as stance control knee
joints for knee-ankle-foot
orthoses. As a
prosthetic/orthotic consultant
for Blue Cross Blue Shield of
Michigan since 1990, he has
