* The Above Knee IPOP was developed and patented by Michigan Orthopedic Services to allow ambulation (walking) within days after surgery without putting any pressure on suture site or residual limb. This device improves circulation by having patient begin walking, thereby decreasing healing and rehabilitation time. This temporary device is used prior to the patient receiving a permanent prosthesis.
